I often imegine myself as a university teacher. I have told you before, I wanted to be a teacher (probably philosophy, history or laguage), but my parents (they both are teachers) that i should not. They have had an awful experience of teaching, and they do not want me to have it. So I would like to be a university teacher. I think I must take a postgrade degree (or a fews) to specialize myself and be able to teach something.
My interest areas are culture development and drug's use and abuse in less valued groups.
Also, I would like to travel to make speech, or making my researches known.
I am not much worried about the salary, as long as it keeps me alive, it is enough. I am not a man of pretty much luxury, so I would like a nice house, a fat dog and some kids.
I would not like to be a Public Administrator, unless it is on the culture ministry, as making culture politics, and cultural management.
I would also like to be a writer, but like a second job i would do for pleasure. I pretty into poetry, and I think in the near future i would like my first "poetry compilation"

English language challenge
I thank to the university for letting us take English courses. I think it is pretty necessary in our world, which is highly globalized and the English is taking places in all the mainstream culture. Almost all the art, music and literature that defines the rol models are from English speaking countries. I do not make value judgement, i am just saying that is a truth we have to deal with.
The using of blogs is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to improve our language skills. The writing requires a lot of abilities that otherwise we do not develop. Like when you make a test, you are not applying the knowledge you have taken, most of the time you are repeating the stuff that people told you.
I think it is important to use the thinks we have learnt in a way that is useful to us. I mean, it can be extrapolated to any subject.
Moreover, I think is one of my weakest points is English. I can pretty easily listen or read an English speech, but it is too hard for me to make myself understandable. This course, through making us write and speak, has made me more comfortably at making myself understandable.
About how i use English in my day: I often see English spoken videos, that helps me to improve my listening. Also, some time ago, i had a New Zealander friend. She was my best friend's girlfriend, but she leave the country about a month ago.
Also, I want to thank you, my partners and teacher, for making this course less awkward. (:

Changes to my study programms
I was asked to think about some changes I could do to my study program. I realized that my study program has few flaws. Maybe infrastructure is the weakest point in the study program. We should have an elevator that could go from the first floor to the fifth. We also had the close of the fifth floor. It was a spot where we can go to evade the university hustle. So, for not being in the plans of the faculty, we cannot use it.
Also, in high levels, there are being seen the firsts holes in the grade curriculum. Most of the problems come from the change of study program made some years ago. There are also being problems with professional practices, and their relationship with the developing areas of the students.
Because of the students' mobilization, we lost a couple months of classes. This means that we have to take the same amount of work in almost three-quarters of the original time to. That is a lot of workloads, which is traduced in stress and mental illness cause of it.
I think that we can resolve these troubles through the students' representation. These organisms of representation are the usual medium between the low statements and the high command of the university. Through dialog and agreements, we can do great things.
At last point, I would like to emphasize on the success that this spot (Escuela de Gobierno y Gestión Pública) has taken in the achievement of students' rights. Like the change of the physical location, or the changes in university policies in aspects like sexual harassment. We have advanced, but there is so much road to walk.

Personal opinions
Today I will be answering some polemic questions.
What is your opinion about violence on television?
I think violence is an important aspect in art making. If it is justified as an art expression, I am okay with it. The problem begins when the media expose the violence as a form of winning audience, without a real need. Besides, I think that as we live in a violent world, we have to see the real violence beyond them. We can not close our eyes to the reality.
What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana and other drugs?
As a consumer, I think marijuana should be legalized. It is unbelievable that in a country such as liberal as Chile we keep restricting the peoples will. I think everyone should be responsable enough to decide whats the right thing to themselves. I think it is meant to be. Otherwise, it needs to be regulated by the State, so we can fight drug dealing.
What is your opinion about recycling?
I think (and I guess everyone does) that recycling is one the most important ways we can help the environment. As we are responsable for the contamination, is also our responsibility to resolve it. Recycling is easy, everyone can do it, it requires only our commitment.
What is your opinion about legalizing abortion in some cases?
Abortion is a reality, we can not deny it. It exists in many levels. It is known that rich families can pay their abortions in clinics, so the are not taking risks. But many woman take clandestine abortions (in their cases are even more necessaries, because they do not have the sources to take that responsibility), and they are the ones that take risks. Legalizing abortion is not making them more probably, is making them more safe.

Sports
By now, I do not do pretty much sports (you perhaps noticed it). But maybe you will be amazed to know that I have practiced so much sports.
At a beginning i done artistic gymnastics (back-flip and stuff). There was a workshop at my school were we practiced gymnastic. We did not go to any kind of competition, but we do have a blast. I started doing gymnastics in 8th grade, and I leave at 3rd grade (secondary). I can do pretty much tricks until now, but i have lost the confidence to do some other. I would like to keep doing gymnastics because it is really fun.
Later i went to a MMA academy. I stayed for around 4 or 5 months, so i learned basic moves (Enough no knock someone down, try me *punch*). I was ready to my first fight, but a motorcycle run over me and I could not go to the academy in one week, so I did not go anymore, because I lost my enthusiasm. It was fun too, and I done a lot of friends (who I do not speak with now).
I also played a lot of chess when I was young. I went to a couple of tournaments. Once, in a school tournament I won second place, but they did not give me my medal. I have lost the practice also, because i have not played in a lot of time.
Besides all, in a short-term i would like to go back to doing sports. I do not really have time.

Postgraduate studies
I think I have mentioned it before, but i am going to tell it again: i would like to course postgraduate studies abroad, specially on france or any European country.
One of my dreams is to travel to France (or, if it is the case, obtain a scholarship) to Study a master or a ph.D in political science or political theory. My focus of interest is the relationship between the cultural management and the social development. As i am excepting, the increase of the cultural management is strictly related to the get out of the less valued groups of a particular society from this situation of devaluation.
The principal reason to do my studies is to be able to teach at an university, here in Chile, because i have respect for the country i live in. It is my frustrated dream to be teaching, because i think i have the vocation of a pedagogue, but my parents did not like the idea (they both are teachers).
The instance of studies i would like is part time studies and part time working. As i am expecting i could do personal researches while i am studying.
I would had like to study philosophy, but my parents told me that was a bad idea. So, my expectations are related to the political philosophy. So, in that case i might take a postgraduate degree on philosophy or its related.

Studying public management
It all started when i was 15 and i read a book of philosophy called "Plato and a platypus walk into a bar". Since that day i began to love philosophy. The years passed and i started to get into political philosophy, so i decided to study "political science" because my parent taught that i would not have a prosperous future as a philosopher.
When i was even younger, my dream was to study rights at Universidad de Chile (an awful dream if you ask me now). The career changed, but the institution stayed. I am the second generation of university students in my family, and the first "son of Bello", so it was an honor for my and for my parents.
Universidad de Chile does not have (yet) the Political Science career, so the closest career is Public Management. Another option that i had is to study in Pontificia Universidad Católica, but for ideological conflict i decided to not to study there.
I have not enjoyed so much the career. It was not what i expected. I do not like the "Management" area, i prefer the "Political" area. By far my favorite Subject is "Ideas y debates políticos contemporáneos".
However, my expectation are to end well the career so I can get my master in political science and be a University Teacher.
